European Keynote — Get a MUVE on…
Gavin Dudeney and Nickey Hockly will be our Keynote Speakers in the European Region. The time of their appearance can be found here.
TITLE OF TALK
Get a MUVE on… Multi-User Virtual Environments, Teaching and Training
ABSTRACT
Harvard are doing it, so are Trinity College Dublin. Suzanne Vega performs there, and Kurt Vonnegut talks about his writings ‘in-world’. Multi-User Virtual Environments provide creative platforms for distributed training, seminars and virtual get-togethers. Rich-media MUVEs such as Second Life combine synchronous text chat with multimedia possibilities and real-time voice chat to open up a world of opportunity for teaching and training. In this keynote we will examine Second Life, and consider its application in the teaching / training process.
