Global Learn Day — Join us October 7/8, 2006 for Voyage Number Ten
We’d like to think GLD is the world’s most unusual event in the education arena. We open the event in the South Pacific — where the planet begins the New Day –; after that, we then “travel”, virtually, west to Hawaii “the long way around”. From 24 time zones we feature those doing exceptional work in education and technology. This year our two keynote heavyweights are Vint Cerf, Google’s “Chief Internet Evangelist” and Sir John Daniel, who “earned his knighthood changing the landscape of higher education in the UK”. Both have keynoted at our event previously, but this is the first time we have put them side-by-side. (With some hard questions about technology explosion and little change in education delivery!) Why do we call it a “Voyage”? Because our make-believe “ship” makes a global “voyage of discovery” once each year.
